Carbon Architects takes part in Park(ing) Day

September 18, 2013

Carbon Architects takes on Park(ing) day to demonstrate care, up-cycling, and organic design for the environment.

As noted in our services, Carbon Architects has concern for our environment and how we care for it. We are excited to show you our first year in participating in the world wide event parking day.

Park(ing) day is an annual open-source global event where citizens, artists, and activists collaborate to temporarily transform parking spaces into public parks. The Mission of park(ing) day is to generate critical debate around how public space is created and allocated and to improve the quality of the urban human habitat.

Carbon Architects teamed up with Io Design to created this design, their main focused was creating an organic sitting area made from automobile tires, signs, rocks, and anything else that they could up-cycle/ recycled. It was important to be able to use the tires in many different types of use. The tires were used as planters, seats, and even a fountain!
