McCaul House

The challenge? To make a 1970’s split level look and live like a contemporary 21st century home. Carbon Architects was able to embrace a project that may have seemed hopeless to many and turn this outdated family home into an authentic showpiece. With the help of owner/interior designer Robin McCaul, Carbon Architects reconfigured the space to accommodate the functional needs of a modern family and their active lifestyle, as well as create exciting design elements that reflected the owners’ classic yet elegant taste and desire for a great space to entertain.

Exposing the kitchen trusses, removing walls and adding new larger front windows to open up the stunning view to the entire first floor are just a few examples of the design ideas that allowed this old house to become new again. With Carbon’s construction team on board from the first swing of the demolition hammers, until the last beautiful light fixture was hung, the challenges of renovating an older, badly-DIY’ed diamond in the rough was both efficient and cost-effective. The result? A true jewel shines on for a new generation of homeowner.
